IPL Season 5 - Match 4 Rajasthan Vs Punjab

DLF IPL Season 5 - Match 4

Rajasthan Royals Vs Kings XI Punjab

Soon after Dada tasted success,  all eyes shifted towards his close friend Rahul Dravid, captain of Rajasthan Royals.  Kings XI captain Adam Gilchrist won toss and chose to field.  Dravid and Rahane gave a solid start for the Royals.  Dravid departed scoring 28 off 24 deliveries when the total was 77.  Menaria was out for a duck.  But Rahane stood like a rock at one end, supported by Brad Hodge, Owais Shah and Copper.  Rahane was unfortunate to miss a well deserved ton, getting out for 98 runs.  Rajasthan Royals amassed 191 runs in their quota of 20 overs.

Chasing an uphill task of 192 runs, Punjab openers Gilchrist and Valthaty took some risk to maintain a healthy run rate.  Gilchrist was the first one to go after making 27 runs followed soon by Valthaty.  Shaun Marsh, Abishek Nayar and David Hussey could not contribute much.  Mandeep Singh was the only batsman to contribute reasonably.  He made 34 off 25 deliveries.  Kings XI Punjab ended their innings at 160/9 conceding a victory by 31 runs to Rajasthan Royals.  Kevin Cooper captured 4/26 from 4 overs.
